I agree with your article; in my experience we as White people rarely are able to acknowledge systems exist in the first place — largely because they work so well for us collectively. It’s tough to get past the unwillingess to recognize there is a system at all. That’s a pretty significant first step and one that threatens the myth of self made success and responsibility.
